Our ProjectsThere are a few projects which are in the initial stages at Fatiha Education Society. We will be announcing the projects in due course. Each project will be posted in its own section on this website to provide detailed information.
Fatiha Islamic School -- Affordable Quality Islamic and Academic Education
The project is to setup the first affordable Islamic elementary school in Greater Toronto Area. Currently, we are actively working in the "gathering support" phase of this project. You can find details of this project at Fatiha School Project pages.
Story Telling
The purpose of this project is to organize storytelling sessions for children. Many researchers maintain that storytelling at a young age provides the foundation for the development of higher cognitive thinking in later years. In addition, storytelling is a form of constructive play where children can learn and have fun. We are planning to collect and rewrite stories with focus on messages behind the story and conduct regular story telling sessions in different vicinities. The planning for this project has been completed. As we collect resources, we will be ready to launch this project.
Fatiha Educational Indoor Playground
This project is also in the initial stages. We believe there is a growing need of educational playgrounds for Muslim children. The idea of this project is to setup activity centres for children. These workstations will be equipped with electronic circuit building tools, Lego building tools, puzzle makers and scientific projects. Parents could leave their children for constructive play after-school to help children develop their interests and skills in a variety of areas.
Other projects
There are several other projects which are in form of ideas and we haven't outlined the execution plan for these projects. Once any of these projects come to inception stage, then we will provide information on these projects on this page. We are open to hearing about project ideas from the community that will enhance the learning environment of our children.
