Curriculum

In long term, Fatiha Education Society plans to develop an integrated curriculum. The integrated curriculum will embed Islamic ideology in all the natural sciences subjects and material. In recent times, there is a lot of good work done on this subject. We hope to benefit from all the good work and improve upon it with help of a team of educationalists and scholars.

Islamic
There are two parallel streams of Islamic curriculum. First one deals with the personality building and the later deals with rituals. For personality building, each grade will have a major theme and a minor theme. The panel scholars will define what is appropriate for each grade level. These themes will then be further broken down into monthly topics. Each topic will then be presented to children with material developed for that specific topic. The second stream deals with performing the rituals. This includes but is not limited to recitation of Quran, memorization of prayers, memorization of hadith etc.

Academic
The guidelines from Ontario Ministry of Education will be followed and Fatiha school will have a target of exceeding the standards set by the province in this area. The course material and tools for teaching are widely accessible in this area. Fatiha school will adopt these materials for Academic Curriculum. A panel of educators will provide guidance in selecting the right material for each grade.

Extra curricular activities
Fatiha education society hopes to provide a host of extra curricular activities to its students. These include martial arts training, basketball, soccer, swiming and skating. In addition to sports, community help projects, field trips and speech competitions will be held to provide an enriching experience to the students.
